Our Philosophy

Alpha & Omega Learning Center was founded on and remains devoted to, the ideal that a happy child is one who is given respect as a unique human being and is allowed to fulfill his or her needs to play, investigate and be his or herself. A happy child is more open to learning than a child who is unhappy, tense or fearful.

We consider it our calling and responsibility to foster each child's capacity for learning, to help him or her grow morally, spiritually, emotionally, physically and intellectually. We believe in individualizing each child's school experience to whatever extent is possible for the fullest development of his or her potential. It is our belief that school should be interesting and even exciting. We believe that each child's work and behavior should be evaluated in terms of his or her own inherent capacity rather than through comparison with others. Cooperation is more valuable than comparison. Our goal is to provide a relaxed, but stimulating atmosphere, where each child feels acceptance and encouragement in the achievement of success through the exercise of responsible choices.

for parents

Greetings to our parents from Pastor Mark A. Weir

Children, youth and healthy families are the heartbeat of Anchor Church. At Alpha & Omega, our desire as a learning center is not just to be a safe place that holds your children while you are working. We are a learning environment- a place where minds and hearts are molded together to be better students and citizens in our community.

Yes, we are a church and I am a minister. However, our purpose as a learning center is not to promote church or doctrine. Our heart is to help your children develop in morals and ethical standards. These morals and standards are:

  • GRATITUDE
  • SHARING AND KINDNESS
  • CARING
  • CONSIDERATION OF OTHERS
  • LOVE
  • PATIENCE
  • INTEGRITY
  • HONESTY
  • DEPENDABILITY
  • FRIENDSHIP

Your children are of great value. Their honesty, thoughts and childlike wisdom are precious to all of us. They are like the raw materials we mine from the earth. They have to be prepared to become a finished product. The rubble and dirt have to be mined away. There is a polishing process, and the finished product becomes a jewel of much worth. Our goal is to partner with you as parents to find the gold and wealth that your children's lives have to offer this world.

You have the right as parents to want the best for your children. This refining process calls for all of us to do all we can to prepare them to one day become the refiners.  I look forward to hopefully meeting each of you in the days to come. Thank you for considering Alpha & Omega Learning Center as your child's early childhood provider.

goals

OUR GOALS FOR ALL CHILDREN HERE AT ALPHA & OMEGA ARE:

  • GETTING STUDENTS OFF TO A GOOD START BY HELPING THEM TO DEVELOP THE FOUNDATIONS OF SELF-ESTEEM, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND OUTLOOKS THEY WILL NEED TO PROSPER IN EDUCATION AND IN LIFE.
  • ENCOURAGE ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT AND ASSERTIVENESS BY PROVIDING A DYNAMIC LEARNING EXPERIENCE THAT ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO ASSUME AN ACTIVE ROLL IN THEIR OWN GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT.
  • TEACHING THE CHILD AS A WHOLE BY PROVIDING A HOLISTIC LEARNING EXPERIENCE THAT HELPS STUDENTS TO BECOME WORTHY, WELL ROUNDED HUMAN BEINGS, DEVELOPING INTELLECTUAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES ALONG WITH STRENGTHS OF CHARACTER AND SOUND VALUES.
  • NURTURING THE CHILD BY PROVIDING THE INSTRUCTION THAT IS DEMANDING, YET SUPPORTIVE TO THE UNIQUE STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES AND NEEDS OF EACH CHILD.
  • CREATING A HEALTHY AND DIVERSE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING A CARING AND CORDIAL ATMOSPHERE IN WHICH ALL MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL FAMILY (STUDENTS, STAFF AND PARENTS), RESPECT, ENJOY AND SEEK TO HELP ONE ANOTHER.
  • DEVELOPING CULTURAL AWARENESS BY HELPING CHILDREN TO UNDERSTAND THEIR OWN CULTURE AND HERITAGE, AS WELL AS OTHER CULTURES OF THE WORLD.
  • PREPARING FOR TOMORROW TODAY BY EXPOSING CHILDREN TO ENVIRONMENTAL, TECHNOLOGICAL AND SOCIAL CHANGES THAT WILL SHAPE THE WORLD THEY WILL INHERIT AS ADULTS.

programs

Our available student programs are as follows:

  • VPK Program- Available for children ages four (4) and five (5); children who will be beginning kindergarten the following school year. We are a state-licensed VPK facility (license # C052776).
